Chicago-based Damon Locks (Black Monument Ensemble) & Marfa-based Rob Mazurek (Exploding Star Orchestra, Chicago Underground) perform in celebration of their first duo album New Future City Radio, which releases July 28th. Locks & Mazurek present a live sonic collage of poetry, percussions, electronics and trumpet, recalling an avant garde echo of early 90s Bomb Squad or late 90s Def Jux as voiced by Orson Welles or Electric Miles. Lori Scacco opens the night with a solo performance of her signature narrative synthesizer works. DJ sets by King Hippo before and between sets. Co-presented by International Anthem & Qobuz, as part of their quarterly series in The Sound Room.
