[CHICAGO] 11 of 11 @ Hungry Brain

For this edition of International Anthem's monthly series at the 𝗛𝘂𝗻𝗴𝗿𝘆 𝗕𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻, we’ll be revisiting Mancunian saxophonist 𝗔𝗹𝗮𝗯𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗗𝗲𝗣𝗹𝘂𝗺𝗲’s serene songbook of wordless music — his 2020 IARC debut 𝐓𝐨 𝐂𝐲 & 𝐋𝐞𝐞: 𝐈𝐧𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐮𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐥𝐬 𝐕𝐨𝐥 𝟏.

But unlike the usual 𝟏𝟏 𝐨𝐟 𝟏𝟏 program, where the whole album is listened to, followed by musicians performing and interpreting the album, this version offers a different approach. For this event, we invite you to join us in a 𝘄𝗵𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗹𝗲 𝗽𝗮𝗰𝗸 𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗹𝘆 𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗲 (inspired by Belmont Cragin United). Our goal is to produce hundreds of bundles containing basic tools and educational materials about protecting the rights of everyone in our communities, which we’ll then take to distribution points around the city.

Tickets are $15 per usual. Friends around the world who would like to support this effort: we encourage you to buy a ticket to this event as well, because 100% of ticket income will be split between the Latino Union of Chicago and the Organized Communities Against Deportations to help them with their ongoing support of migrant families.

Even if you can't be there in person, buying a ticket for this event will enter your name into a raffle. Winners will get a rare Alabaster DePlume item: either one of two copies of Alabaster's limited edition poetry book 𝘼 𝙋𝙧𝙤𝙡𝙤𝙜𝙪𝙚 𝙩𝙤 𝘼 𝘽𝙡𝙖𝙙𝙚 (generously donated by David Penn), or one of several copies of Alabaster's long out of print 𝙎𝙖𝙡𝙩𝙮 𝙍𝙤𝙖𝙙 𝘿𝙤𝙜𝙨 𝙑𝙞𝙘𝙩𝙤𝙧𝙮 𝘼𝙣𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙢 flexi disc.

Please join us as we try to do our best against the madness the US government has unleashed in the streets of Chicago.
