Telepathic Afro-Caribbean improvisational trumpet-and-percussion duo Aquiles Navarro and Tcheser Holmes are longtime friends, collaborators, and tireless hustlers on the creative music scenes of New York City. We came to know these brilliant players via their work in the mighty free jazz quintet Irreversible Entanglements; and after several years of growing steadily fonder of the sounds they make, we are pleased to share that their new duo album, Heritage of the Invisible II, is out TODAY!

Rob Mazurek releases two new singles today: “Galaxy 1000” and “The Careening Prism Within (Parable 43),” from his forthcoming Exploding Star Orchestra album Dimensional Stardust (which comes out November 20th via our partnership with Nonesuch Records). In late November of 2018, long-time collaborators (& life-long Los Angelenos) Carlos Niño & Miguel Atwood-Ferguson flew to Chicago to participate in the album release performance of Makaya McCraven’s Universal Beings. Just 11 months prior, Carlos & Miguel were part of recording the ‘Los Angeles Side’ of Universal Beings at Jeff Parker’s house in Altadena, California, and this performance in Chicago would be the first time that all of the musicians reunited to re-learn and perform the music they’d collectively composed during those sessions.

We are very happy to announce & release on all digital platforms today - Angel Bat Dawid's Transition East - featuring two new pieces of music Angel created in response to Emma Warren's book Make Some Space - i.e. the critically-lauded 2019 chronicle of London DIY institution Total Refreshment Centre.

We are pleased to share today… the first new music from Philly/NY/DC free jazz collective IRREVERSIBLE ENTANGLEMENTS since their 2017 debut. “Homeless/Global” is an epic, 23-minute standalone “single” and unabridged take from the first moments of the Philadelphia recording session for their forthcoming LP, “Homeless/Global” stretches out inside a vacuum of time, running over 23 minutes in a blink of an eye.

Following a highly successful European blitz in November, Jaimie Branch & her flyin (not dyin) quartet (with Chad Taylor, Jason Ajemian, and Lester St. Louis) return triumphantly to the US for a three-city victory lap that starts in Los Angeles this Wednesday night.
