International Anthem at the Land School (Volume 1)
*** OUT NOW EXCLUSIVELY ON QOBUZ ***
ICYMI... last Fall, one week after the release of Kaleidoscopic Visions, Skinner visited Chicago to do a couple performances with a first-time ensemble featuring Chicago-based musicians Joshua Abrams (bass), Ishmael Ali (cello), and Mai Sugimoto (woodwinds), in addition to his regular bandmate and fellow London traveler Chelsea Carmichael (woodwinds). The second of those performances was at International Anthem's new Chicago HQ The Land School, where the five musicians played Skinner’s compositions beautifully, imbuing the tunes with a nice bit of Windy City steez.
Two recordings from that performance were released as a live EP titled International Anthem @ The Land School (Volume 1), exclusively available for hi-res stream or download via Qobuz.

film by Alan Medina
International Anthem @ The Land School (Volume 1) was released alongside an abstract film by Alan Medina, who shot Skinner and the ensemble’s engagement at The Land School on 16mm, and beautifully set his footage to the recording of “MHA.”
