[ITALY] Scenasonica Spotlight featuring International Anthem

International Anthem
Scenasonica Spotlight

AQUAVITAE – EcoArena – Precenicco UD Italy
17-18 July 2026

Today we are very excited to share details for this two-day International Anthem showcase in Precenicco, Friuli-Venezia Giulia, Italy. Presented by Scenasonica and AQUAVITAE, organized in collaboration with Gianluca Gobbo and Pentagon Booking, across two days this beautiful gathering will feature performances by Alabaster DePlume (band), Ben LaMar Gay (quartet), Ibelisse Guardia Ferragutti (solo), Gregory Uhlmann (solo), Ruth Goller (band), and Kalia Vandever (solo), as well as DJ sets from IARC co-founder Scottie McNiece.

In their announcement, Scenasonica refers to the weekend as: "Not a simple festival, rather a small point of international convergence built around listening, curiosity and sharing... Far from the logic of mega events. Close to people, music, landscape... A short sound community immersed in the Friulian lagoon."

Tickets for Day 1 here. Tickets for Day 2 here.
Bundle tickets for both dates here.

IBELISSE GUARDIA FERRAGUTTI
(solo)

July 17

The whole affair will be blessed and set off by Ibelisse Guardia Ferragutti, who opens the weekend with an activation drawing on her multidimensional work in sound, movement, and Andean witchcraft. Ibelisse's work with Frank Rosaly for their 2024 duo debut MESTIZX, including their powerful performance at 90mil in Berlin, remains an all time IARC high, so we're especially excited to see where her solo work takes us.

KALIA VANDEVER
(solo)

July 17

Also on Day 1, composer, trombonist and singer Kalia Vandever will perform music from their freshly released International Anthem debut album Mana. Vandever's immersive live sound was in full expansive force when they performed at our Chicago HQ, The Land School, for our label's 11th anniversary celebration last December; watch and listen to some of that performance here for a peek.

ALABASTER DEPLUME
(band)

July 17

London-based Mancunian poet, saxophonist, singer, songwriter, spiritual leader Alabaster DePlume closes out the first day. Leading a band that also features Ruth Goller (bass) and Julian Sartorius (drums), DePlume performs music (hopefully) from his recently released EP Dear Children of Our Children, I Knew: Epilogue, as well as the four full length albums he has released with International Anthem in the last 6 years: 2020's To Cy & Lee: Instrumentals Vol. 1, 2022's GOLD, 2023's Come With Fierce Grace, and 2025's A Blade Because A Blade is Whole.

GREGORY UHLMANN
(solo)

July 18

The showcases's second day is opened by Gregory Uhlmann, who performs music from the recently released Extra Stars, his solo artist debut for the label, which followed a string of co-led IARC projects including two albums by SML (2024's Small Medium Large and 2025's How You Been), and a self-titled trio album with Josh Johnson and Sam Wilkes. For a quick vibe on his solo performance, please enjoy this video of Uhlmann in our studio at The Land School in Chicago from last December.

RUTH GOLLER (band)

July 18

Composer, bassist, and vocalist Ruth Goller is one of the only Italian born artists on the International Anthem label (more on that below). For that and and many other reasons we are incredibly stoked that a new iteration of her Skylla live ensemble, with violist Ultan O'Brien and drummer Will Glaser, will be a highlight of this weekend showcase. Following the release of her IARC debut SKYLLUMINA, Goller and Skylla's 2024 set at London's Church of Sound left us speechless... unfortunately it wasn't documented!

BEN LAMAR GAY (quartet)

July 18

There couldn't be a more perfect closer for the weekend's festivities. Chicago born/raised/residing composer, cornetist, omni-instrumentalist and longtime IARC recording artist Ben LaMar Gay is in many ways the heart and soul of our label family. In addition to the dozen or more albums of his own that he's released on the label, he has also been a featured artist on a dozen or more albums by other artists on the label. For the final set of the final night, Gay performs with his main outlet, i.e. his working quartet with Edinho Gerber (guitar), Matthew Davis (tuba), and Tommaso Moretti (drums).

Little know but relevant fact here: although he has lived in Chicago for a decade plus, drummer Tommaso Moretti was actually the first Italian artist to sign to International Anthem. The Roma-born Moretti was a co-leader of Bottle Tree with Gay and A.M. Frison. Majorly slept on project! Revisit Bottle Tree's self-titled 2017 debut here.
